How do I delete my account?
To permanently delete your BarMate account:
- Open the BarMate app
- Go to Profile → Settings
- Scroll down to "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion
Alternatively, email us at privacy@barmates.net with subject "Delete My Account".
Why isn't my location working?
Make sure location services are enabled:
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
- Make sure Location Services is ON
- Scroll to BarMate and select "While Using the App"
How do I disable notifications?
You can control notifications in two ways:
- In-app: Profile → Settings → Notifications
- iOS Settings: Settings → Notifications → BarMate
Can I export my check-in history?
Yes! Email us at support@barmates.net and we'll send you a file with all your data.
How do I invite friends?
There are two ways to invite friends:
- Create a Friend Group: Groups → Create Group → Add Members
- Share a Planned Visit: Plan a visit → Select groups to notify
Why can't I see nearby venues?
Make sure you:
- Have granted location permissions (see above)
- Have an active internet connection
- Are in an area with bars/venues (not all locations have venues)
How do I report inappropriate content?
Email us at support@barmates.net with:
- Description of the issue
- Username of the person (if applicable)
- Screenshot if possible
